The Wine: Tuba Pet-Nat 2022

Wild Jag Tuba Pet-Nat is made from a blend of 85% Albariño and 15% French Colombard. The Albariño came in mid-August. It was foot tread, then wrapped and flushed with CO2. It was pressed two days later and went dry six days after pressing. In order to add some acidity and complexity, direct press French Colombard was added. It was then bottled, and fermentation finished in the bottle, causing it to be sparkling. The bottles were left upright for six months in order to allow more lees contact prior to riddling. In February of 2023, the wines were riddled and allowed to clarify, and then in early April, they were disgorged.

The Producer: Wild Jag

Wild Jag wines are made by Adam Beck. As a musician who came of age in punk and DIY spaces, he was drawn to the anti-corporate, anti-establishment ethos of natural wine, which aligned with his creative mentality. The wines are designed for casual drinking, priced to party, and are intended to be accessible, rather than a luxury item.
